2007 Huntley Project 24, Malta 17

This 2007 game, held at Daylis Stadium in Billings on September 8, 2007 featured the Red Devils taking on the defending state champion Malta Mustangs who, one year earlier, had knocked the Devils out of the playoffs with a stunning come-from-behind 34-35 victory in the semifinals. This time the Red Devils prevailed, jumping out to a 14-0 first quarter lead then holding on as Malta made a furious comeback behind 230 yards of rushing by Malta’s standout running back Chance Demarais. Huntley sophomore Lucas Knight intercepted a Kazz Siewing pass on the Project 12 with 7:46 left in the game to seal the deal. The Red Devils defeated the defending Class B champions 24-17 but would later lose to Malta in the quarterfinals eight weeks later to end their season at 9-1.
